Vigo
is a wonderfully interesting and exciting city. With an official population
of around 300,000 it is the foremost city in Galicia, the historic autonomous
region of the north west of Spain, bound by the Atlantic to the west and
north and the Portuguese border to the south. Vigo is situated on what
is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world.
On eitherside of the harbour, along its full length, stretch some of the
most splendid, golden, sandy beaches in the whole of Spain. The entrance
to the harbour is protected by the Cies Islands, a beautiful national park
of beaches, pine trees and sea birds, far from the madding crowd. A visit
to the Cies Islands is like a return to Paradise, unforgettable. The landscape
around Vigo is very picturesque, with pine and eucalyptus covered hills
and lush green valleys with typical minifundia where the campesinos
produce the traditional Galician wines. The area is a very popular summer
resort for the Spanish themselves as well as for discerning tourists from
many different countries. One of the most famous places of pilgrimage in
the world, Santiago de Compostela, is less than an hour away, and the Portuguese
border about twenty minutes away by car.
Airports: Vigo is easy to get to, either flying into Vigo airport,
Santiago de Compostela international airport, or Oporto international airport
(a 2 hour drive from Vigo).
Climate: Vigo enjoys a pleasant climate which makes it an ideal
place to be, especially in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Average Maximum temperatures:
Spring 18ºC; Summer 26ºC; Autumn 20ºC; Winter 14ºC.

are two centres in Vigo, both located in attractive areas of the city,
with a total of 16 comfortable, well equipped, modern classrooms. We accept
students from all over the world.
The minimum age for standard courses throughout the year is 16 (average
age 25), but in summer we also offer a special programme for young people
aged 12 to 20

METHODOLOGY
A totally Spanish atmosphere is created in each classroom. From the
beginning the student learns to understand, speak, read and write, using
audiovisual and direct method techniques and following the communicative
approach to language teaching. Each classroom is equipped with cassette
tape recorder and speakers, video and TV. Euroschools has a state of the
art Multimedia centre and giant screen for group viewing of films, documentaries,
etc.
EUROSCHOOLS COURSES
Euroschools offers a variety of course programmes in Spanish, including:
1. Intensive group courses.
2. Preparation courses for the D.E.L.E. (Diploma de Español
como Lengua Extranjera) Examinations.
3. Courses in various aspects of Spanish culture such as, literature,
art, music, politics, history, customs, traditions, the regions of Spain,
etc. The minimum level of Spanish required to register for these courses
is Lower Intermediate.
4. Private Tuition - Individual, one to one, classes which
may be combined with other programmes.
